Building Homes - Bringing HoPe |
Solid Rock Carpenters is a non-profit organization that formed in 2005 to offer outreach opportunities to eager volunteers. People from all backgrounds and skill levels volunteer for rebuilding projects providing shelter for people in need. Over the past 14 years, more than 4,700 volunteers have supported SRCs mission of Building Homes and Bringing Hope to the underserved. SRC has been active in planning outreach programs locally, nationally and internationally - hosting 18 Framing Day Events, many local building projects and directly involved in the building of 50 homes on 58 organized trips. |
Framing Days 100-200 Volunteers gather in a parking lot and frame walls for a home in sections. Those walls are then loaded on a big truck and shipped to our partner organization to be constructed on site at a later date. | Service Trips We have coordinated teams from 10-230 people. However, our typical team size is 30-50 people. These teams travel to various partner organizations to build new homes and repair existing homes for people in need. | Various Local Projects We have served with Chicagoland homeless shelters to build bunkbeds for their facilites. |
